Psychiatric Services

Comprehensive, physician-delivered psychiatric care

From evaluation through ongoing treatment, every service below is delivered or overseen by a board-certified psychiatrist.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is the use of psychological methods, particularly when based on regular personal interaction, to help a person change behavior, increase happiness, and overcome problems. At Mindspring Health Inc., we provide various psychotherapeutic modalities: psychodynamic, integrative, interpersonal, ACT/CBT, and humanistic approaches.

Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation

Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations assess the client's functioning in areas associated with learning, behavior, social skills, mood and anxiety, and cognitive processing. We offer appointments via telepsychiatry.

Autism Evaluation

A comprehensive diagnostic evaluation for autism spectrum disorder, combining clinical interview, developmental history, and standardized assessment tools to inform an accurate diagnosis. Evaluations consider social communication, behavior patterns, and functioning across settings, and may draw on input from caregivers or other close contacts where relevant. Results are used to guide diagnosis and inform recommendations for treatment, accommodations, and further support.

Executive Coaching

Executive coaching is a helping relationship formed between a client who has managerial authority and responsibility in an organization and a consultant who uses a wide variety of behavioral techniques and methods to help the client achieve a mutually identified set of goals — improving professional performance and personal satisfaction, and consequently the effectiveness of the client's organization, within a formally defined coaching agreement.

Medication Management

Medication management involves the initial evaluation of the patient's need for psychotropic medications, the provision of a prescription, and ongoing medical monitoring related to the patient's use of the psychotropic medication by a qualified physician/prescriber. We employ a patient-centered approach that fosters patient empowerment to meet each individual's needs.

Genetic Testing

Pharmacogenomic testing analyzes how your genes may affect the way your body metabolizes certain psychiatric medications. Results can help your provider anticipate potential drug interactions, sensitivities, or reduced effectiveness tied to your genetic profile, informing more personalized medication selection and dosing. Testing is typically done with a simple cheek swab or blood sample and reviewed together with your provider as part of your broader treatment plan — it is a tool to help guide decisions, not a replacement for clinical judgment.

Combined Medication Management & Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is often used in combination with medication to treat mental health conditions. Combining psychotropic medications and psychotherapy generally leads to improved outcomes and therefore reduces the overall cost of care. Combined treatment produces not only faster and greater short-term benefits, but greater long-term benefits as well. Patients receiving combined treatment with psychotherapy have a lower relapse rate than do patients receiving medications alone.

SPRAVATO® (esketamine)

Spravato, also known as esketamine nasal spray, is the standard in treatment for refractory depression mood disorder. Spravato treatment is often prescribed alone or together with oral antidepressants to relieve severe symptoms of depression and suicidal ideations. It is the first FDA-approved antidepressant nasal spray for adults 18 and older with treatment-resistant depression.

Treatment is completed in office. Patients are seated in a private or semi-private room. A health care provider will guide you on how to administer the intranasal spray. You will then be monitored in the office for 2 hours, and will need someone to drive you home. The initial treatment consists of twice-weekly treatments for four weeks, then treatment once weekly or as determined by your physician.

Also available: Interventional Psychiatry

For patients who need more than medication and therapy alone, Mindspring Health also offers ONE-Day TMS, Accelerated TMS, IV Ketamine therapy, PRISM for PTSD, and VNS in-house.
