A. Umair Janjua, M.D.

Board-Certified Forensic Psychiatrist

A.  Janjua, M.D., founded Mindspring Health with the goal to provide patient-centered, evidence-based care using a biopsychosocial approach.

Background

Dr. Janjua is board-certified in both General Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. After completing his residency training in General Psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine, Dr. Janjua completed an additional year of training in Forensic Psychiatry at Emory and has a diploma in Executive Coaching from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. He also received the Walter Wellborn Endowed Fellowship in Psychiatry. He holds an adjunct faculty appointment with the Emory University School of Medicine and the Augusta University/UGA Medical Partnership.
 
Dr. Janjua is a native of Atlanta and has trained extensively in psychopharmacology and in various psychotherapeutic modalities. He has a special interest in mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, ADHD, OCD, neurocognitive disorders, neuromodulation, and integrative medicine.

Approach

Dr. Janjua’s treatment approach is integrative, often combining various modalities: medications, psychotherapy, medical/diagnostic lab work, nutrition, exercise, and other psychotherapeutic and wellness-focused approaches tailored to each individual’s values and needs. Dr. Janjua treats teenagers, adults, and elderly patients.
