Forensic psychiatry is a discipline that focuses on the intersection of psychiatric issues and the law. Consultation, evaluation, report writing, and testimony are completed by the forensic psychiatric expert for legal purposes in civil or criminal matters.
Dr. Janjua is a forensic psychiatrist. He completed fellowship training in Forensic Psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine. While completing his training at Emory, he gained expertise with pertinent federal and state case law. Additionally, he gained experience in providing legal testimony.
Dr. Janjua conducts forensic psychiatric evaluations, consultations, and expert witness testimony in civil and criminal cases.
Dr. Janjua has a vast array of experience in correctional psychiatry. He has provided psychiatric services at the Atlanta City Detention Center, Fulton County Jail, and Troup County Jail. He is available to consult on medicolegal issues involving correctional psychiatry. In addition, Dr. Janjua has experience with testamentary capacity (competency to make a will), geriatric issues, addiction issues, neuromodulation issues, and various other civil competency evaluations. In addition, he has worked in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings and can consult on medicolegal issues involving such civil cases.
Dr. Janjua is board-certified in General Psychiatry and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is available to discuss any of the above issues. Attorneys and courts are encouraged to call regarding comprehensive psychiatric reports, expert witness testimony, and case consultation. Dr. Janjua’s curriculum vitae is available upon request.
